’Swormystery’ is the captivating new release from enigmatic Czech string quartet MAOMAH (Music Army of Mystery and Hope). Composed by double bass player Klára Pudláková, ‘Swormystery’ offers a hint of what’s in store on upcoming album Platoon of Love, released Jan 12 on experimental label Ma Records. The piece is propelled by Pudláková’s expert bass playing, the pace ebbing and flowing as the listener is swept under shifting tides of legato strings. Violins sing siren song as the piece teeters somewhere between tension and harmony, all the while remaining unresolved as all great mysteries do.
